Toby Keith’s latest album debuts at number one with ‘Bullets in the Gun’ he sold just shy of 71 thousand copies which pushed Kenny to the number 2 spot with a second week of sales at 65 thousand copies. And just a note while we are waiting for Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now’ since ‘Fearless’ came out it has sold over 6 million copies… yes 6 million since 2008!


Charlie Daniels will be receiving the Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award at a special awards ceremony in New York on October 27th. He’s been doing it to it with his fiddle for over 50 years! Charlie will be turning 74 the day after the ceremony! Plus he will host the Charlie Daniels Band & Friends Concert to benefit Christmas 4 Kids at the Ryman Auditorium on November 22nd.

Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift have been nominated at the 2010 Billboard Touring Awards and they are the only three country tours in the “top package” category. Others in the running are AC/DC, Bon Jovi and U2. The awards will be presented in New York City on November 4th..

The Judds are ready to hit the stage of the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and it’s going to be all about the pink! Yes, it is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the pair will perform in a special concert. It’s only been a year ago that Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry were trying to get their first single ‘Hip to My Heart off the ground… Now The Band Perry are opening up for Alan Jackson on his fall tour and are also nominated for their first CMA Award for Vocal Group of the Year! American Idol finalist Bucky Covington may be playing near you soon. He just announced that he is adding additional dates to his fall tour. And if you are a Dale Jr. Fan then you know he has the bar Whiskey River and Bucky will be there on November 18^th.

Miranda Lambert had her first live DVD out now. She is headlining CMT on Tour this fall with special guest Eric Church. Her next concerts are in Durham, NC on Thursday, Columbia, SC on Friday and Perry GA on Saturday.

And Josh Turner is at the top of both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Country Singles charts this week with ‘All Over Me’ Easton Corbin is at 2 with ‘Roll With It’ and Darius Rucker with the ‘Come Back Song’ is at number 3.

In 92 George Strait was the star of ‘Pure Country’ and now make plans to see ‘Pure Country 2: The Gift’ which is slated to be released on October 15^th. Are you ready for 22 of Number one songs from Tim McGraw? Well make sure you are ready to pick that up on November 30. These single go back to 94 thru 2009! And may I say Tim is just plain fine!!! Sorry had to go there!

Trisha Yearwood or recently referred to as Mrs. Garth Brooks may not be be touring right now but she does see it in the future once the youngest child is out of school, she’s 14 now. Trisha said she won’t mind moving to New York one day and appearing in a Broadway show but it’s all about the timing so for now she’s been putting out cookbooks and enjoying life at a slower pace.

Faith Hill has lent her voice to narrate a new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum which will honor Tammy Wynette’s career. You’ll be able to see many costumes that she wore, wigs, jewelry and even childhood toys along with her many awards. The exhibit will be on display until June 12 next year.

And Tracy Lawrence has been working on a new CD that he tells the ‘Daily times’ is a little more progressive.  He also talks about mellowing in his age in the past decade ago.  Tracy does admit he is still a gypsy at heart and is ready to hit the road again which he will be doing next month! The 6^th Annual Tricky Hoedown concert is this Saturday as BlackHawk will headline this event honoring the memory of Van Stephenson, who passed away from his battle with cancer in 2001. Henry Paul told the boot “Losing a friend like Van was devastating and it left an enormous void in our musical career and our personal relationships. I felt compelled to honor his last wishes, which were to keep the band going, to try and find a cure for cancer and keep his memory alive!” BlackHawk just finished up their latest album which should be out later this year.

On November the 18^th and 19^th the Zac Brown Band will be headlining the celebration of Nascar’s 2010 season. This 2-day event happens in Miami. They will also be performing at the CMA Awards this year!

Dumb and Dumber actor Jeff Daniels has taken on many characters in movies and has been playing his guitar and writing music since 1976. He has a CD out “Live at the Puple Rose Theatre” and is now touring! Click here for tour dates

Alan Jackson’s tour down under is a sell-out! The Trek reported it as the fastest-selling country music tour in Oz history! He and Miranda Lambert kick off that tour in Melborne on March 4^th!

Darryl Worley will be honoring not only those who serve but the ones who stay behind embarking on a 7 city 2010 ‘God & Country Tour’ October 15^th. He will be performing free concerts on Army posts for military families. I have the link click here

Randy Houser recently shared with The Boot that he almost got married one time but broke it off to pursue his dream of becoming a recording artist. He explained one day he saw the video for Tammy Cochran’s Song “Life Happened” and tears just started rolling down his face when he realized that he would never be happy unless he followed his heart and moved to Nashville instead of getting married. Randy is touring with Gary Allan on his ‘Get Off on the Pain Tour’.

I’m loving Twitter and as I enjoy it I do share what I find like Dierks Bentley’s recent tweet “I believe I may have grabbed the wrong towel before heading out the door to play hockey tonight” he linked a pic of him with a pig towel on his head. During his down time he plays hockey with a team called the Ice Holes.  Click here

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will be hosting and on the stage performing that night will be George Strait, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Lady A and Dierks Bently, Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson and of course Carrie and Brad will be singing too!

Trace Adkins is going to be heading out for another USO Tour. He’s been doing them since 2002 

Of course because of security measures the dates and countries won’t be released to the public.

Trace has dedicated himself to giving back to the military both on and off the stage and a big salute goes out!

Julianne Hough will be in the highly anticipated remake of “Footloose” which will hit the theaters 

next year. Julianne spills the beans and says there will be more dancing in the new movie than the original.

Sugarland will be performing on CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute. It’s a two hour star packed event 

honoring everyday people who are committed to making positive changes in the world. 

They will perform “Stand Up” which is their upcoming album “The Incredible Machine” hitting 

the stores October 19^th.

Brad Paisley is known as a funny guy but so is his wife! Yes, Kimberly Williams-Paisley recently tweeted “I’m getting so old my belly button is now a pelvis button” and a few weeks ago she wrote “To my sons’ future teachers: Ben Franklin was the FIRST to say ‘fart proudly’ I swear.

And Mr. Alan Jackson will be putting on a free concert on the 30^th of this month as a part of the “Concerts for the Coast” Series. The only way to get the tickets are at one location and that is the box office at the Wharf in Orange Beach that’s in Alabama by the way. Locals can pick up four free tickets beginning Monday the 11^th at 10am and tickets are available while supplies last!

Chely Wright is now another high-profile celebrity to appear on Larry King Live to speak out against the bullying of gay and lesbian teens. They showed a video and mentioned the “Give a damn” campaign, you can find out more and how caring about the issue doesn’t matter what your sexual preference is. James Otto says he didn’t know what to expect when he and his wife were preparing for the recent birth of their first child. He said that he remained calm in the delivery room but nothing could prepare him for when he heard the newborn’s little voice.  Quote “When I heard her cry, it absolutely brought me down to my knees.” Reflecting on his life so far he said “It’s a lot—and it’s all good. I feel like a blessed man”.

Yesterday Toby Keith’s “Bullets In The Gun” came out and boy or boy is it a great one! All I can say is if you haven’t gotten it… it’s worth the money to do so!

Billy Currington had made the list of one of Nashville’s 25 Most Beautiful People in the magazine Nashville Lifestyles along with Rodney Atkins and Troy Gentry.

Brad Paisley is known for his pranks and he is at it again. This time he his victim Easton Corbin. Last weekend while performing on stage in Denver Colorado a huge guy in a full body yellow leotard suit came up and Easton couldn’t stop laughing… later Brad hit the stage throwing bread at him while he was trying to sing the chorus of Roll with it and started stuffing them down his shirt. He said it kind of hurt when they hit him on the side of the head remarking they must have been stale.

 

Everyone knows that David Hasselhoff or the hoff as some call him is a strange bird to begin was with but I read about a story that included LeAnn Rimes that I just had to share.  On Sept. 30^th He was waving to Motorist on a LA freeway and LeAnn just happen to be one of them she tweets OMG David Hasselhoff is standing on the freeway overpass in LA waving to people. Seriously !! Can someone explain? David Tweets back “It was me on the overpass. I like to make people’s commute a little more fun! Give my love to Eddie LeAnn replies LOL love it!!!! You are hysterical! Kissin’ him now for you!

And one more tweet that caught my eye was from Dierks Bentley. “my mom just called Boarder’s Bookstore and asked them to hold three copies of the latest Penthouse magazine with my interview in it. I’m pretty sure she has no idea what Penthouse is… wish I could be at the store with a video camera when she goes to pick them up!

Jason Aldean will be hosting the 5^th annual concert for the Cure on October 15^th with the money going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Jason shared with the boot that he had a really good friend die of breast cancer when she was only 29 and the day that she passed away his family decided that they would always do something to carry on her memory and to help fight. They say a woman dies every 69 seconds from breast cancer. Remember October is breast cancer awareness month.

On Wednesday night the New York City’s Terminal 5 was packed for the start of CMT’s 9^th annual CMT on Tour featuring Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and Josh Kelly.  At the end of Miranda’s set she kicked off her shoes and danced around on stage saying “I know we’re in New Your City, but do we have any rednecks in the house”.

A few notable other cuts are from Ronnie Dunn “She’s Actin’ Single (I’m Drinkin’ Doubles) and Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum  co-wrote “A Little Bit Stronger” which is sung by Sara Evans. Don’t forget the movie hits the theaters on December 22^nd.
